There’s a triptych of images hanging in my bedroom of Jacques wearing this hat. Jacques will see them out of the corner of his eye and stop any conversation to point and say “my hat.” He will not stop repeating it until you agree that is indeed him wearing HIS hat.

God love a two year old.

I went to the National Gallery to meet my photography class. I was late and never found them, but I wandered around and took some photos.

I feel like there are a million of these kinds of photographs, but I never tire of them. I think I might start a series of similar-themed images.

As a result of the disappointing news that our move to Texas is off, Jean and I decided some retail therapy might deflate the funk. So…

We bought a hot tub!

It’s being delivered on Friday. In the meantime, we had to prepare a space for it. One of our neighbors owns a landscape company and he found a way to fit us in this week.

I’m pretty sure these guys thought I was weird. But, I’m okay with that.

A year ago when we bought our house, we bought new appliances. Jean has battled with the manufacturer for a year because our refrigerator has been very noisy. A repair man has been out to service it several times, but it’s a defect with the motor.

Finally, Jean was fed up and filed a complaint with the BBB. Two weeks later, we were offered a new fridge. We got a fancier model; this one has crushed ice & water dispenser.

I guess the lesson here is, if you don’t like something, be patient & complain. That’s Jean’s credo, anyway.

This is the only photo I took today. I tried to get some of Jacques and Karah for my class assignment, but they wouldn’t stand still long enough for me to press the shutter.

Monday night was portrait night in class. I can’t say that I really enjoyed it, but I did get a couple of shots that I like. Hopefully our poor models will agree.

Anyway, this was the arm for the flash we used. I forgot to get permission from our models to post one of my portraits of them.

We have a little field mouse who has taken up residency under our deck. The mouse and I were playing a bit of peek-a-boo the other day. The neighborhood cats, however, aren’t really interested in peek-a-boo.

I think this guy means business.

We stayed with friends in Val-David this weekend. I was so lazy that I really didn’t take many photos, either. It’s a shame, because the friends we stayed with are the most beautiful family. Their children are so amazingly gorgeous.

Anyway, can you spot the eyes in the photo? They have a frog pond in their back yard that housed many frogs. I had a good time playing “Où sont les grenouilles?” with myself.

Jean and I went to Val-David this weekend to regroup a bit. The weather was gorgeous! These beautiful flowers were outside a friend’s B&B.

Quite honestly, the last couple of days have been really hard. We were so close to moving to Texas that I could smell it. Taking photos hasn’t been a priority, but I still have taken something. We’re going away for the weekend, and I hope to have some time to decompress, relax and get my head screwed back on correctly.

Because we had the house on the market, the table was set. Since apparently I jinxed everything, it was all in vain.

Curses.
